As of 2012, the SoHo Journal celebrates it’s thirteenth year of publishing. SoHo Journal and sohojournal.com are perhaps more relevant now more than ever before. The last decade has seen many changes on a National and local level and SoHo Journal has been there to cover them all…Major news stories, Mayors, Presidents, AIDS, Community, Terrorists, Artist, Musicians, Galleries, Fashion and Entertainments events. We have been there covering the City and The Hamptons and even the Nation with an objective voice that’s often gotten us into hot water but we’ve never wavered in our commitment to uncovering the truth; we never shy away from the fight to protect the masses from fraud or corruption and we thrive on discovering new talent, alerting our readers to a great restaurant or the latest perfect martini, what we’re watching, listening to or reading.
With the addition of sohojournal.com we are now able to deliver breaking news faster, and get it out to our readers while it’s still important. We’re not interested in wire releases or “yesterdays news” so to speak. We have our Editors, Writers and Reporters all trained to update the site with breaking stories so there is no lag time. It’s just another phase in our continuing growth and efforts to bring our readers what they need to know as quickly as possible.
READERSHIP-New York City
Our research has shown that our readership is approx 28 to 60 years old. The readers are split almost evenly between men and women and a staggering 68% are college graduates. 18% make more than $250,000 per year, 52% make $125,000 per year and the balance make $100,000 per year or less and 63% of them own their homes and 41% have one child, while 22% have two or more children. Our successful and well-educated readers live in the general downtown area ranging from 14th street to the Financial District and the Hudson to the East rivers with the densest concentration obviously being SoHo, Tribeca, and The West Village. Our studies have also shown that each copy of SoHo Journal is read by three people.
READERSHIP-The Hamptons
Our research has shown that our Hampton readership is approx 37 to 68 years old. The readers are split almost evenly between men and women and an impressive 76% are college graduates. 32% make more than $250,000 per year, 52% make $125,000 per year and the balance make $100,000 per year or less and 77% of them own their homes, and 59% have one child, while 22% have two or more children. Our very successful readers reside in Southampton and East Hampton and 88 % are full time residents. Our studies have also shown that each copy of SoHo Journal is read by two people.
HARD COPY & ONLINE
The hard copy of SoHo Journal is published six times a year with an average print run of 50,000 copies per. The online edition receives an average of 150,000 hits per month and those readers stay for more than 22 minutes per visit. In these times of the three second attention span to maintain a reader for that amount of time is unprecedented. We are very proud of our ability to capture reader attention, hold them and keep them returning often two to three times per day depending on the news and entertainment activity. Advertising in SoHo Journal and on sohojournal.com are the most affordable ways to reach two very dense populations (downtown Manhattan and the Hamptons) of affluent readers, many with a high margin of disposable income. We can tailor to your advertising needs, weather it’s a timely message that needs to be splashed across the website for an immediate announcement or a more general ad that constantly alerts our readers to your presence in one of the world’s most prestigious shopping and dining regions. Because of our size we are able to deliver more personal service to our advertisers. We also offer design service for both online and print if needed. Please email info@sohojournal.com, carrie@sohojournal.com or mark@sohojournal.com for more information, let us know how we can help.
