Dear EarthTalk: With plug-in hybrid and electric cars due to hit the roads sometime soon, will there be places to plug them in besides at home? And if so, how much will it cost to re-charge?

Rob Hollander is a community activist extraordinaire.  He recently emailed us links to affordable housing units in Chelsea, Midtown, and Ft. Greene.  Rent is such a hardship in this city, and never has it been as spotlighted as in these troubling times.  So if you are eligible I suggest you apply.


THE WORKING FAMILIES PARTY WANTS TO PAY YOUR RENT.

Has it really come to this?  The Working Families Party is holding a contest to find out which renter really has it worst.  Points that will work in your favor:  no heat, unsafe stairs, rusty water, rats.  Wow the winner must be so lucky….  Well at least they’ll have a month’s rent paid for so they can enjoy their hell hole.
