A.C.E. HOLDS ART AUCTION TO BENEFIT HOMELESS. 3/19 AT 6PM.

The Association of Community Programs for the Homeless (A.C.E.) will hold an auction this Thursday, March 19th to benefit their homeless rehabilitation programs.

A.C.E., along with its local initiatives the SoHo and TriBeCa partnerships, are organizations that champion to help New York’s homeless re-enter the workforce by giving them the skills and support they need to sustain jobs and live a positive life.  This includes the programs in Project Comeback, an intensive four to six month vocational rehabilitation program that includes substance abuse programs, job-readiness workshops, actual work experience, and one-on-one counseling to ready participants for employment.  It also includes Project Comeback, a program to offer Project Comeback graduates support in maintain their jobs and their sobriety.  As of January 2006, 87% of their clients have remained employed for two years or longer.
 
The benefit will be a silent auction held at the Mimi Fertz Gallery from 6- 9pm.  Art galleries from around the City have donated pieces in support and all proceeds will go to A.C.E.  You can also check out a preview of the art Wednesday, March 18th from 12-6pm also held at the gallery. Lydia Fenet of Christie’s will be auctioneer and a live jazz trio will compliment the evening.
