BENEFIT CONCERTS FOR HAITI AT CITY WINERY FEAT. PATTI SMITH AND LEWIS BLACK— 1/20 THROUGH 1/25

Haitians are strong and resilient people—theirs is the first country in the world to establish an independent republic led by former slaves. They are not in the words of Pat Robertson deserving of this tragedy because of a “pact with the devil” or by the comments of Rush Limbaugh that inferred that Americans shouldn't donate to Haiti because their tax dollars already go there. As refuted by Nicholas Kristof in the New York Times (Jan. 15), the US contributes much less than other countries do per capita, even though Haiti is our poorest neighbor. So Fuck Pat Robertson and Fuck Rush Limbaugh.
