BUY SAMPLES AND TRADE CLOTHES WITH STRANGERS THIS WEEKEND.

The Sixth Ward: Bring Clothes. Drink. Swap clothes. Drink. Repeat.

Thanks to the folks at Daily Candy for the heads up.

This is not a time for spending copious amounts of cash on furniture and clothes. And maybe it isn't the time for alliteration either, so I'll stop. But seriously, what is a person to do if the shopping bug won't stop biting, yet you also want to sock away any extra money you may have for your "when I get downsized" fund?

Fortunately, SURevolution, a home and accessories studios with a focus on sustainable artisan products from South America is throwing a one day Sample Sale, with prices starting at a mer five bucks. Definitely worth checking out.

SURevolution
Friday, 3/13/9 from 11am-8pm
197 Grand Street, b/t Mott & Mulberry Streets
212-255-6928

Meanwhile, The Sixth Ward is getting us ready for how things will go when the world's currencies finally become quaint memories. They are bringing back the barter (sorry) system with an afternoon swap of clothes. Yep, just bring in a bag of your unwanted clothes for a chance to rummage through others', then swap. Presumably non-judgemental fashion students will be on hand to help with fittings for your new outfits. Can you afford not to go?

The Sixth Ward
Sunday, 3/15/9 @ 3:30-7 p.m.
191 Orchard Street b/t Houston & Stanton Streets.
