Debussy: 150 Minutes
To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Claude Debussy’s birth and in honor of his indelible influence on the evolution and future of music, we will play 150 minutes of Debussy’s music. Many consider Claude Debussy to be the father of musical Impressionism for his use of tone, color, and texture in his compositions. This label permanently linked the composer to the Impressionist painters of the era as well as the fashionable writers and musicians of mid-19th century Paris, including Eric Satie, Ernest Chausson, and Stéphane Mallarmé.
