DON'T SHRINK CONEY DEMONSTRATION AT CITY HALL!
Help! Coney Island is in peril! The historic site, once a hedonistic playground and a haven for social outsiders, is now in danger of being debased to a collection of high rises. The city’s current rezoning plan would allow towers up to 27 stories tall to permeate the heart of Coney Island’s central amusement district. If this happens, Coney Island, once so full with charisma, would be reduced to just a caricature of its former self.
The Planning Commission will vote on the zoning plan in just a few weeks. Save Coney Island, a grassroots organization committed to the revitalization of Coney Island and its surrounding areas, will be holing a rally on Wednesday, June 10th. Join them as they protest to protect the local treasure.
