Go Green, Recycle Your eWaste at Tekserve—7/10/10

Tekserve’s at it again. The electronic repair store (a savior to me many-o-times) along with the Lower East Side Ecology Center are moonlight in electronic recycling. Go green by safely and properly recycle your old electronics at their eWaste Recycling Drive. Bring computers, monitors, fax machines, copiers, CD/DVD/VCR players, stereo equipment, televisions, cell phones, cameras and other unwanted electronics to Tekserve on Saturday, July 10th from 10am to 4pm to be safely recycled.

Anyone bringing electronics to be recycled can enter for a chance to win an Apple MacBook Air. Plus, all participants in the event will receive a $25 coupon, good towards any Mac or iPod (excluding iPod shuffle) from Tekserve, to be used within 30 days of the event.
Certain fully working electronics can also be donated to Materials for the Arts, a reuse initiative to get lightly-used electronics into the welcoming hands of NYC Department of Education classroom students and arts and cultural programs in-need throughout the five boroughs. Check these donation details to see if your equipment qualifies as a tax-deductable donation.
The components in many electronics can be incredibly hazardous to the environment - contributing up to 70% of the toxins found in landfills - so it's important that they are properly recycled.
