LANNY BREUER, HEAD OF D.O.J. CRIMINAL DIVISION, TO SPEAK AT CRIME COMMISSION TOMORROW
Lanny Breuer, who serves as the Assistant Attorney General of the U.S. Department of Justice's Criminal Division. will speak at a Citizens Crime Commission Breakfast Forum on Thursday, February 4, at 8:30 AM.
As head of the Criminal Division, Mr. Breuer oversees more than 700 attorneys and support personnel who work to develop, enforce and supervise the application of all federal criminal laws.
Prior to joining the Department of Justice, Mr. Breuer was a partner at Covington & Burling in Washington, DC. There he co-chaired the firm's white collar defense and investigations practice group and served as vice-chair of the pro bono committee. From 1997 to 1999, he served as special counsel to former President William Clinton.
A graduate of Columbia University and Columbia Law School, Mr. Breuer began his career in 1985 as an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan, where he prosecuted various types of criminal cases.
