POLITICAL EVENTS FOR POLITICAL JUNKIES: COUNCIL CANDIDATES FORUM

Upcoming candidates forums, courtesy of the Historic Districts Council and GVSHP:

2nd Council District (includes most of the East Village)
Incumbent Councilmember Rosie Mendez and challenger Juan Pagan
Thursday, September 3rd at 6 PM
Parish Hall, St. Mark’s Church-in-the-Bowery
131 East 10th Street, btw. 2nd and 3rd Avenues

The venue has a limited seating.  The tickets will be distributed on a first come, first served basis starting at 5 PM. There is a limit of one ticket per person and additional stand by tickets will be distributed according to availability.
 

 

1st Council District (Includes the Lower East Side)
Friday, September 4th at 6:00 PM
Judson Memorial Church meeting room, downstairs
239 Thompson Street, btw. Washington Sq. So. and West 3rd Street

Challengers Margaret Chin, Arthur Gregory, and P.J. Kim are confirmed to attend. Incumbent Councilmember Alan Gerson and challenger Pete Gleason have not yet confirmed participation.

Tuesday, September 8th at 6:30 PM
Hudson Guild Elliot Center, 2nd floor
441 West 26th Street, btw. 9th and 10th Avenues

Challengers Yetta Kurland and Maria Passannante-Derr have both confirmed their participation. Incumbent Councilmember and Council Speaker Christine Quinn has declined to participate.

 
The venue has a limited seating.  The tickets will be distributed on a first come, first served basis starting at 5:30 PM. There is a limit of one ticket per person and additional stand by tickets will be distributed according to availability.
