ROOFTOP FILMS PRESENTS “FRONTRUNNERS” AT CHELSEA MARKET: 4/13/09 AT 7:30 PM.
Rooftop Films is acclaimed as one of the most exceptional film festivals around, for a sundry of reasons. For one, the criteria for films selected is that they are both smart and entertaining, a combination that is all too rare. Another reason Rooftop Films rocks is because it screens outdoors!!! Instead of confining the flicks to one theater, the festival brings its movies to the communities, adding a variable that only enhances the cinematic experience.
This Monday they will be watching the acclaimed Frontrunners, a documentary about the student council presidential campaign at New York City’s Stuyvesant High School. It’s described as “An entertaining and symbolic campaign film, put forth in classic verité style, [it follows] four charming and idiosyncratic candidates as they navigate an electoral process that is said to be one of the most competitive at the high school level.”
So channel your inner Tracy Flick and watch this real life Election. It promises to deliver.
