September 11 Community Remembrance at the Manhattan Youth Downtown Community Center

Annually since September 11, 2001 the Manhattan Youth Center has held a night of remembrance. It’s a time to share memories, reflect on how it changed lives, the neighborhood, and the world. Next week on the 9th anniversary the Center will once again be holding a gathering full of discussion, poetry, and music. Join your neighbors and stand together to honor the big and small acts of heroism, and look to a future filled with peace.

“9/11 brought the diverse peoples and communities of Lower Manhattan together in ways that affirmed our common humanity. Neighbor responded to neighbor; strangers became friends.

We did not allow hatred to have the last word.”

Featuring: Alex Levin Trio & Christa Victoria & poetry from The Poets House.
Rev. William Grant & Bob Townley, facilitators.
