URBANA POETRY SLAM FEAT. SARAH MORGAN AT THE BOWERY POETRY CLUB— TONIGHT AT 7PM!!

Poetry has had its shining moments in the swing of cultural trends, though lately a quality slam seems few and far between. So where should you go when you need a dose of narcotic wordplay?  You’d go to the Bowery Poetry Club silly! (duh!) Every Tuesday the Club presents the Urbana Poetry Slam featuring a prolific new poet. Tonight watch Sarah Morgan kill it. And if you dare compete in a poetry slam or read a poem in the open mic that precedes it. Admission is $7 to Open Slams and $10 to watch the Semifinals.

 

“Sarah Morgan is a touring performance poet who just released her first full length book of poetry "Animal Ballistics" through Write Bloody Publishing.

 

Sarah's work has been published in several literary journals, including Mad Swirl, Word Riot, and The Common-Line Project. She was instrumental in the rebirth of the Philadelphia Slam Poetry Team, which lay dormant for twelve years prior.

 

Now residing in Chicago, she is a member of Vox Ferus, an organization dedicated to empowering the members of marginalized communities through the written and spoken word. She also regularly contributes to The Encyclopedia Show and Young Chicago Authors.”
