THIS WEEKEND’S KID ADVENTURES!

This weekend keep your kids busy with politics and pickles!  On Saturday teach your children the importance of being politically active by making signs for political change at the New Museum of Contemporary Art.  On Sunday celebrate the 9th annual International Pickle Day by roaming the streets of the old pickle district (the lower east side) to find the perfect treat!!  Both events are free and full of family fun!

“Watch out, Washington! Inspired by the political art exhibit “The Deeper They Bury Me, the Louder My Voice Becomes,” this month’s First Saturdays for Families activity inspires activism in young liberals. Kids create their own signs for political change, which will be projected on a wall adjacent to the museum that evening. Ages 4 to 15.”

Sunday is the 9th Annual International Pickle Day

"An area rich in history with more unique traditions than can be documented, the Lower East Side smiles back the past today. In the heart of the old Pickle District, this street fair features samples of the green delicacy from India to Haiti, from Malaysia to Brooklyn, and of course, those good old fashion kosher dills from the LES. There is free valet parking for bikes, plus a play performed by The Drilling Company which is entitled Shakespeare in the Parking Lot. Pickles and people hailing from around the world come together today in celebration of the diverse neighborhood. All ages."
