THE WFP CAN UNDERSTAND THE WOES OF A GREEDY LANDLORD.

The Working Families Party was formed by a grassroots coalition of community organizations, neighborhood activists and labor unions.  They identify as a party of the people; their goal to build a society that values and advocates for all of its members. 
 
The eradication of the middle class in New York has often been theorized, but never have its propellants been so prominent as now.  Affordable housing is one of the WFA’s main concerns.  Though the recession has left thousands jobless, rents have remained relatively stable thus forcing many to leave the City.  And without the overturning of vacancy decontrol thousands more rent stabilized apartments are being lost every year.
 
The WFA has circulated a spoof email from an especially greedy landlord.  Check it out:
 
As everyone knows, the US is in recession, and this is having a devastating impact on landlords and real estate investors. We borrowed billions of dollars and can only pay it back if we do a better job of jacking up the rent. Literally dozens of billionaires are at risk of not making millions more in profits this year.


 
 
Our enemies are pressing for rent laws that would discourage real estate speculation and protect what they call "affordable housing" in New York. These laws would prevent us from raising rents as we see fit and evicting long-time tenants who can no longer afford to live in our buildings.

The shadowy organization known as the Working Families Party has already raised taxes on the wealthy. What's next? Limits on executive compensation? Universal health care? They must be stopped before it's too late.
