The Dementors are tormenting America. They are the darkest of creatures. They fly around sucking out our very heart and soul, driving us, their victims into hopeless depression. But this is no Harry Potter fairy tale. These Dementors, death eaters and doom sayers silently shout out their secret message in a carny barkers code: “We have ours.We have most of yours, and we are going to take the rest.”

In the third world they call it “crony capitalism.” The president’s brother gets richer faster than any body else. As usual Wall Street leaped over the top, jacked everything up on steroids and invented Cannibal Capitalism. They aim to eat your lunch and you alive. And they want a bonus for it. For instance, Goldman Sachs gave 36 million stock options to their top execs, aka partners in crime, in 2008. This amounted to king size cash bonus for playing a leading role in raping the entire world economy.

It looks like it is going to be a Wiley Coyote ride and if you are not really scared yet, maybe it’s because you are not paying enough attention, because the signs all say we all ought to be scare s**tless.

The first depression of the new century and the worst oil deluge in US history both featured corrosive and explosive greed aided abetted and enabled by a deadly combination of incredibly bad reporting and incredibly willful ignorance.

The Great Wall Street Panic of 2008 should have taught us all some very valuable lessons. Lesson number one should be to forget about all those people on Wall Street and in Washington, on television, and in the newspapers telling us everything is going to be all right and we should just hold on tight.

Too bad the phony patriots who are preaching prejudice and waving ragged flags in front of the Seven Eleven while stealing and soiling the glorious name of the minutemen can’t bother to read more of the document that those brave rebels fought and died for.
